Memorial Parkway Super Seniors are mostly retired, but all are young at heart. The group gets together each week on Wednesday morning at 10:00 to study God’s Word and enjoy fellowship together. A fellowship meal concludes the Bible study with several ladies of the congregation preparing the lunch and every other week, enjoying a potluck meal together. We have about 35 to 40 in attendance on Wednesday mornings, but would like to grow and have more members and friends attend!
The class sends get well cards to the sick and mails the newcomer packets to those who have recently moved to the community.
We also take short trips together on a regular basis. Parkway's Super Seniors have a lot to offer the church and community. We are a spiritually supporting group! Our aim is to be there for each other when the going gets rough, as well as to celebrate those happy occasions.
From time to time, we embark on special projects to help the church or the needy. When everyone pitches in together, the job gets done and is surprisingly lots of fun. If you are looking for a caring group of Christian friends, then you will love the Super Seniors. Hope you will consider being a part of this wonderful program!
What To Expect
Each Wednesday we sing before we start the lesson. We are lead in prayer both at the beginning and the end of the lesson. The second prayer will include the thanks for the food we are about to receive.
The Super Seniors have our own songbook that is made of songs from our regular worship hymn book. There are a few special ones in there about the Super Seniors. The Involvement and Outreach Minister, John Denney, has written this about the songbook. “This song book was designed for our Super Seniors at the memorial Parkway Church of Christ. I appreciate all the Super Seniors do in using their talents for the Lord. It’s been a joy to work with them in so many different areas and involvement over the years. Whether it’s in Wednesday morning Bible study, doing mail-outs for newcomers in the community, or some other program of work within the church, I can always count on you in using your abilities serving in His Kingdom!"

Smile awhile and give your face a rest, Lift your voice to the one you love the best. Then shake hands with the ones next to you. Greet them with a smile!
We then have two or maybe three more songs before we have a prayer and then our Bible lesson.
The following is a listing of the some of the activities that are planned.
Each week we will have our hour-long learning of the scriptures. After this we will enjoy some sort of meal; either this is planned by the ladies or it is potluck; either way, it will be good.
On the first Wednesday of each month we receive a crossword puzzle to work that deals with the scriptures and look at last months puzzle to see if we have it right. Then they are put in a container and drawn for a prize. Also we recognize birthdays for the month.
Each 5th Wednesday we will have a trip planned for some place close by where we can go and visit. We have been to many wonderful places and have even gone down to the Art Museum to see some of Grandma Moses' paintings. Someone will come up with a place to go and visit. So if you can, we would love to have you come and spend a couple of hours with us each Wednesday morning.
