DEACONS 2004-2005
Listed below are the areas of work and the men at Memorial Parkway who have agreed to serve as deacons over these areas.
Benevolence/Disaster Relief Tim Bell Responsible for providing congregational assistance to needy families. Coordinate disaster relief.
Childcare Don Champion Plan and coordinate efforts to provide for needy children and foster care.
Children Mike Crawford Organize and chair preteen committee to plan and execute activities for the preteens.
Computer Systems Eric Corder Oversee computer hardware and software support for all using activities.
Electronic Equipment Greg Parker Oversee utilization and maintenance of audio, video and non-computer electronic equipment.
Facilities Derek Horst Responsible for maintenance of all church property and property development plans.
Fellowship Randal Jennings Plan, coordinate and oversee all congregational fellowships.
Hospital Jim Ferguson Organize, recruit and maintain effective and aggressive programs for hospital visitation.
Outreach/ Grief Support Naaman Goode Ensure that all members are utilized with emphasis on new members/ converts. Ensure that the physical and spiritual needs of this group are met. Oversee the Grief Program.
Library/Bible Correspondence Glenn Carmack Maintain the
library and oversee the Bible Correspondence Program. Lord's Supper Charles Kelly Select members to prepare, serve and clean-up, and verify participation.
Missions Bob Layne Oversight of mission programs, including all mission campaigns.
Nursing Home Frank Williams Responsible for carrying out worship services at local nursing homes.
Reception Barry Todd Make everyone feel welcome and appreciated at each worship service.
Shut-Ins Bob Williams Ensure that the physical and spiritual needs of this group are met.
Transportation Darryl Wells Provide and maintain safe and effective transportation equipment and procedures.
Ushers Steve Parker Greet everyone entering the auditorium, provide information and assist in seating or locating someone.
Veterans Home Bill Brothers Responsible for carrying out worship services at local Veterans Homes.
Visitation Greg Mathis Organize, recruit and maintain effective and aggressive programs for congregational visitation including TFD Program.
Web Site Harold Pirtle Develop use of Internet as a communication, teaching and evangelistic tool geared to the programs implemented by this congregation.
Worship Support Coordination Paul King Ensure that all phases of worship are carried out decently and in order.
Young Families Jim Beverly Organize and chair the committee to plan and execute activities for this group.
